In his works, Cory Arcangel docks onto many art genres: the new media, appropriation art, pop art, and conceptual art. The protagonists of his video projections, "hacks," and sound works are Elton John, Super Mario, Bruce Springsteen, Dennis Hopper, the Beatles, or Andy Warhol.Another One Bites the Dust (2007) is a scan of Axl Rose’s sneakers on the backside of the album The Spaghetti Incident?, an album consisting solely of Guns N’Roses' covers of various punk idols.

Cory Arcangel (born in 1978 in Buffalo) is an artist and musician. Exhibition participations have included shows in Casino Luxembourg – Forum d’art contemporain, Luxembourg (2008), Musée d´Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (2007), Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York (2003), the Liverpool Biennial (2004), the Whitney Biennial (2004) and Zurich's Migros Museum (2005). He lives in Brooklyn, New York.
